101 Main Street, Ashland, MA 01721 (P) 508-881-0100 (F) 508-231-1503

The Town of Ashland's
ideal location midway between Boston and Worcester provides easy access to the interstate highway system and the Massachusetts Turnpike.
Ashland was, in earlier times, a stopping point on a major Indian trail which later became known as the Bay Path, connecting Cambridge and Connecticut. It was here that a community of Natick Indians was established as the Village of Magunkaquog in about 1659.  Once the original starting point of the world famous Boston Marathon, which still runs through Ashland, the town is also known as the site of Henry Warren's invention of the electric clock, later manufactured here under the Telechron name.  Ashland, although predominantly residential, is committed to a close working relationship with its business community.  Businesses, residents and visitors look forward to "Ashland Day", a not-to-be-missed annual celebration of traditional New England spirit!  For additional information and facts please go to our community profile document.

Televised Municipal Meetings and more...

WACA TV (offsite)  -  Ashland Cable Access Corporation, which was incorporated in 1985, set up its first studio on Eliot Street. The station's first programs were regular tapings of the selectmen and school committee meetings. Very soon, Ashland Cable became more active and expanded its programming line to include many types of shows. Some of these programs, which are still in production today, are "Calling All Kids," "Night at the Roundtable," "Unplugged," "Soup to Nuts," and many more.

Street Lights

To report a streetlight problem, please send an email to: streetlights@ashlandmass.com
In order to expedite the process, please include the following information: (1) pole number off of the utility pole (if available); (2) nearest street address to the streetlight; and (3) nearest cross street, if applicable. This information will help the Town identify the specific streetlight.

Routine maintenance requests (replacement of bulb and/or photo cell) are addressed weekly and normally are fixed within 7-10 days. If the streetlight outage is the result of a power issue, the repair may take longer.  Thank you.
