The Board of Selectmen acts as the Town’s Chief Executive Body responsible for the general welfare of the Community. Specific powers and responsibilities of the Board of Selectmen are set forth in Chapter 559 of the Acts of 1953 which is better known as the Town Manager Act and the General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

The Board also has the responsibility to appoint and oversee the work of the Town Manager. Annually the Board of Selectmen files with the citizens of Ashland an Annual Report.

The Board of Selectmen typically meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM in the 2nd Floor Selectmen Meeting Room in Town Hall at 101 Main Street. Visit our Document Center for a list of agendas and meeting minutes that are currently available online.
