South Middlesex Campership
Coalition (SMCC) was organized in 1972, is a non-profit, volunteer
organization that raises money to send children in financial need and
children with special needs to summer camp. Its purpose is to provide a
supervised, enriching experience to children who would otherwise have no
opportunities for summer play. |

The Youth Advisory
Counseling Program provides short-term counseling services or
stabilization while in crisis. Many residents are on waiting lists at
regional agencies or have issues with insurance benefits not covering
mental health needs. The Director, a Licensed Certified Social Worker, is
able to provide counseling services for residents in need. |

The Youth Advisory Holiday
Drives, provide families in need with a Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner,
as well as new toys and clothing for each child in the family. Families
must apply to the program and submit income verification. |

Ashland Unplugged is an
awareness campaign to remind Ashland families and residents to unplug
their electronics and plug into each other. It is a reminder that
there is more to life than what is on the other side of a plug. During the
month of September the Youth Advisory publishes a calendar of activities
that do NOT require electricity and that emphasize person-to-person
interaction and health. |

Youth Advisorys Juvenile
Court Diversion program works with the Ashland Police Department to keep
many children from entering the court system. This program is tailored to
the individual childs needs and is used as a learning experience, in
hopes to prevent future arrests. |

The Crisis Response
program is a twenty-four hour on-call service that responds to social
service/mental health emergencies in the community. The on-call clinician
responds to calls from the Ashland Police Department, Ashland Fire
Department and from clients. |

Happy Birthdays For All is
a program, in partnership with Smiling Kids Inc, which supplies birthday
gifts for income eligible families in Ashland. |

The Ashland Food Pantry
supplies food and personal care products to Ashland families in need. The
hours are Monday-Friday 10:00AM to 3:00PM and by appointment. |

The School Advocacy
program provides parents and children with an advocate while in school or
when working with the school in times of academic or behavioral crisis.
