Main Street Water Main Cleaning and Lining

The Town of Ashland, Department of Public Works is notifying you of the upcoming construction project in Main Street and Summer Street. The Town of Ashland will be singing a contract with Biszko Contracting Corp. (Contractor), 20 Development Street, Fall river, MA 02721, to rehabilitate the Main Street water pipes through lining.

The project includes lining approximately 1,800 linear feet of water pipe in Main Street from Summer Street to the bridge over the river on Myrtle Street. The Contract drawings can be viewed by clicking the link below.

The project will require the installation of temporary above ground water mains with temporary water services to each building to allow existing water mains to be removed from service and the required work completed. The Contractor will be contacting each building owner to coordinate the connection of the temporary water service to your building. There may be a short duration (15 minutes or less) water shut off to make the temporary connection to your building.

The Contractor’s schedule has not been finalized at this time, we anticipate the work to start mid to late June 2019.  The water pipe work is anticipated to be completed in August 2019 or early September 2019.

We realize our water main lining project may cause some inconvenience for those who work in the area.  We will work closely with the Ashland Police Department to minimize the traffic disruptions and we will do our best to see that the construction goes smoothly.

The Town has contracted with Haley and Ward, Inc to provide project oversight during construction.
