Mill Pond and Riverwalk Trail

Mill Pond is located in downtown Ashland at the intersection of Main Street as it turns into Myrtle Street and Pine Hill Road. Mill Pond continues to Marathon Park and the Sudbury River. Riverwalk is a trail completed by a pedestrian footbridge that opened in August of 2020.

The idea for Riverwalk began almost a decade ago and is thanks to a group of dedicated volunteers from the Open Space and Recreation Committee. It connects downtown Ashland with the MBTA station.  The .8-mile trail consists of a stone dust path, an ADA observation deck on the western side of the project, a long-span bridge close to Mill Pond Park, and the construction of an ADA-accessible parking lot on Ponderosa Road. The construction began in 2018 and concluded in 2020. There are plans to create a second pedestrian bridge.
