Bio/Memoir Book Club: Read 'I'm Still Here' by Austin Channing Brown *For Adults

Wednesday, June 15, 2022

For this month's Biography/Memoir Book Club we'll be discussing "I'm Still Here" by Austin Channing Brown.

Join the conversation as we discuss I'm Still Here: Black Dignity in a world made for whiteness, by Austin Channing Brown, a leading voice on racial justice.

"Austin Channing Brown gives the reader an eye-opening account of growing up Black, Christian, and female that exposes how white America's love affair with diversity so often falls short of its ideals. I'm Still Here is an illuminating look at how white, middle-class, Evangelicalism has participated in an era of rising racial hostility, inviting the reader to confront apathy, recognize God's ongoing work in the world, and discover how blackness - if we let it - can save us all."

We'll have copies of the book at the library for you to borrow or you can order it from our online catalog.
