 Although the Treasurer's Office is currently closed to the public, we are able to assist you via email or phone.  To encourage people to conduct more transactions online, bank fees and charges for online transactions both eChecks and credit card transactions paid through City Hall Systems are now being waived for residents. Municipal Lien Requests should be both mailed with a $50 fee and self addressed stamped envelope and emailed to the Treasurer/Collector department at treasurercollector@ashlandmass.com in the event we have mail disruption. 

Responsibilities

The Treasurer/Collector is responsible for the billing, collecting, and investing of all Town funds including real estate and personal property taxes, motor vehicle excises, water/sewer bills, as well as a myriad of miscellaneous departmental service charges, permits, licenses, and fees.

The department is also responsible for the maintenance of all properties taken for nonpayment of taxes and for all public auction or disposition of all foreclosed properties. It administers and arranges for the timely disbursement of all payments to vendors, town employees, and retirees and is responsible for the administration of the Towns debt program.

The office strives to provide the highest level of customer assistance with regard to billing inquiries and payment processing.

Fiscal Year 2020 third quarter Real Estate & Personal Property bills were due on Monday, February 3, 2020. 

Motor vehicle excise tax bills for this calendar year 2020 due date has been extended to May 1, 2020.  If you have the ability to pay your excise tax bills on or before the original due date of March 30, 2020 thank you for paying them.

If due to the Covid-19(Corona virus) health emergency and the state and federal declarations of emergency, you do not have the ability to pay your 2020 excise tax on or before the due date of March 30, 2020, NO LATE CHARGES WILL BE ASSESSED PROVIDED YOU MAKE YOUR EXCISE TAX PAYMENTS ON OR BEFORE MAY 1, 2020

Please contact the Treasurer's Office 508-881-0100 x 2016 with your license plate number if you had a vehicle registered as of January 1, 2020 and did not receive a bill and we will be happy to assist you.
