[ARCHIVED] MBTA Access Road Project - Status update

General comment:
The site contractors are aware of critical times during the day when traffic to the train station is high and will make all efforts to not adversely impact or delay commuters. Please expect delays and plan accordingly.  Traffic traveling into the station in the morning is a priority over traffic leaving the station. One lane will remain open during construction. The contractor had to leave several plates in the road today.  They will mark the plates with cones along the side of the road.

Week ending 2/3/2017 construction activities:

Eversource installed the gas line across the street at the entrance to the RTD. The roadway contractor continued installation of the sewer from the toward the RTD site and crossed the road with the sewer. All trenches have been paved.

Next week (2/6- 2/10) construction activities:

The roadway contractor will continue installing sewer up the roadway toward the train station. The sewer has crossed over to the opposite of the street so traffic patterns will change next week. No work will be performed in the street by Eversource.

Weekending 1/27/2017:

Two construction crews installed utilities this week. Eversource continued installing gas main from near the development towards West Union Street. The roadway contractor began installation of the sewer from the existing manhole near the ball field, crossing the road and heading toward the train station. Sewer trench was paved.

As of today 640 ft. of gas line is installed.  Weather looks cold but dry for next week so we expect to be working every day.  Regardig, Gas line Installation - We will likely average 120-160 ft. per day.  So by the end of next week we should be close to having all the work in the shoulder complete and will be ready to start the crossings at the RTD site and the ball field the week of the Feb 6th.

Next week (1/30-2/3) construction activities:
Eversource will continue installing gas main towards West Union Street. The roadway contractor will continue installing sewer up the roadway from near the ball field toward the train station.
