In accordance with 313 CMR 4.11(2), the Interbasin Transfer Act regulations, I am sending this notice of public hearings to you. Please post on your website, and/or other area generally available to the public. The Massachusetts Water Resources Commission (WRC) is required by the Interbasin Transfer Act (MGL Ch 21 Section 8D) to hold two public hearings, one in the receiving community (Ashland) and one in the donor basin (MWRA water supply system). To this end, the WRC has scheduled these hearings on the following dates:
1. August 21, 2018 at 1 PM at the DCR Quabbin Blue Meadow Conference Center, 370 Blue Meadow Road, Belchertown, MA 01007
2. August 23, 2018 at 6:30 PM in the Board of Selectmen meeting room, Town Hall, 101 Main Street, Ashland, MA 01721.
Copies of the application, in the form of the DEIR and FEIR, are available for review at the Ashland Public Library, the Clapp Memorial Library, the Bigelow Free Public Library and at the Department of Conservation and Recreation, Office of Water Resources, 251 Causeway Street, Boston, MA 02114.
