West Union Transmission Sewer Replacement Project Update:

Progress for the week of October 10-14
The Contractor began installation of the sewer main in Main Street at the intersection of Leland Avenue and Clyde Road. The new water main has been installed through the Kidde-Fenwal property and ended just outside the gate with a new hydrant.
A new gate valve has been installed on the existing water main in the Clark/Clyde intersection to allow the shutdown of the Clyde Road water main. All Clyde Road houses are now connected to the temporary aboveground (light blue) water main.
Temporary paving preparation on trenches in Brook Street were completed. All trenches will be paved prior to the winter.

During the week of October 17-21
Work will continue in Main Street on the sewer main installation.
Work on the new water main in Main Street between Leland Avenue and Clyde Road will also be completed.
Traffic detours will remain in effect during this week. Contractor anticipates trench excavation in Man Street should be completed by the end of the week.
Ashland Police will be on site to direct traffic around the construction zone.
When possible, one lane traffic will be setup.

Beginning on Columbus Day and through the week of October 10-14 work will begin in Main St in the intersection of Leland St and Clyde St. This work will involve the closure of Main St to allow for the installation of new sewer manholes and piping. The Ashland Police will be directing traffic around the construction zone during the hours of 7am-5pm. Work will continue on the installation of the new water main in the Fenwal area.

Progress for the week of October 3-7 the Contractor continued with installation of the sewer main through the Fenwal property. Houses on Brook St and Columbus Ave have been connected to the new water main and the temporary water main has been removed. The new water main has been installed through the easement on Columbus Ave into the Fenwal property. Some residences on Clyde Rd and State St have been connected to the temporary water main in this location.
