[ARCHIVED] Downtown Water Main Projects - Main St. and Summer St.

*  Project 1:  Main Street Water Main Lining and Cleaning (July to September)

*  Project 2:  Summer Street Water Main Replacement (July to November)

Traffic may be impacted from time to time throughout the project.  At this time, there are no needs for a detour.  All travel lanes shall be open for the majority of both projects.

The Main Street work zone is from the Mill Pond Dam (Pine Hill Road) southbound through downtown to the Post Office.

The Summer Street work zone is from the Post Office to Cherry Street.

The projects will require the installation of temporary above-ground water mains with temporary water services to each building to allow existing water mains to be cleaned/relined or replaced.  The Contractor will be contacting each building owner to coordinate the connection of the temporary water service to your building.  There may be a short duration (15 minutes or less) water shut off to make the temporary connection to your building.

We realize our water main projects may cause some inconvenience for those who work in the area.  We will work closely with the Ashland Police Department to minimize the traffic disruptions and we will do our best to see that the construction goes smoothly.

The Town has contracted with Haley and Ward. Inc. (Engineering Firm) to provide project oversight during construction.  If you have any questions, or concerns throughout the project, please do not hesitate to speak with the onsite engineer or you can contact the following:
