West Union Transmission Sewer Replacement Project Update:

Progress for September 25-30 the contractor has continued installing the new sewer main through the Fenwall property. The new water main in Brook St and Columbus Avenue has been activated and the houses that were being fed by the temporary water main are scheduled to be connected to the new water main.

During the week of October 3-7 sewer main work will continue through the Fenwall property into Leland St. The contractor will prepare for the sewer work in Main St at Leland St and Clyde St. This work should begin the week of October 10. The temporary water main in Brook St, Chestnut St and Columbus St will be removed and all driveway ramps will be cleaned up. Installation of the new water main through the Fenwall property will continue.

The contractor has requested permission and Board of Selectmen approved to work on the Columbus Day holiday. Main benefit to working on the Holiday is that he will be working across Main Street and setting up a detour. Monday will not have the added bus traffic, in addition Fenwall’s production work is shut down for that day and will not have trucks entering Leland from Main Street.

West Union Transmission Sewer Update for the Week of September 19, 2016
- The contractor will continue to install gravity sewer in Leland Avenue.
- The new water main in Chestnut, Brook and Columbus has been pressure tested.
- The contractor will be disinfecting the main this week.
- Once the main passes bacteriological testing, the contractor will connect the house water services to the new water main.
